What's This All About?

People have been asking me for updates wherever I go so I've decided to create one centralized place that I can post information directly related to the book's status.

Whether you're following this site from another post or just happened to stumble upon it, welcome.

Ever since Glenn and I wrapped up the 35 part column we felt like we could have done so much more. There were more creators to talk to, more information to discuss and of course get everyone on board and on the same page to make a definitive version of the behind the scenes goings on of one of the most controversial and popular comic stories of all time: the Spider-Man Clone Saga.

What you all really want to know about is what's going on though, right? Well now I have something to say. I've finally finished with the first edit of the book. Over the past 3 years I have been contacting all the creators and editors who worked on the Clone Saga and having them tell their side of the story, their anecdotes and their feelings. That was the fun part. The hard part was taking all of that new information (and there is A LOT of new information) and integrating it with the existing material and making it flow properly.

A few minutes ago I sent in the first pass to Glenn, my partner in crime. It's far from perfect and Glenn's watchful eye will hopefully be able to trim down the current 243 pages but I'm happy with it. I'm happy that there is now a light at the end of the tunnel and we're one major step closer in getting this book completed and in your hands.

Be sure to check out this site for your up to the minute information on our journey to get The Life of Reilly in the hands of the fans.

It won't be long now.

  1. Andrew,

I tried to contact you through several different channels, but never made it so.

Coincidentally, I was checking for updates today and noticed you posted this yesterday (Sept 5), so I think you will read this.

I had the best part of my last five years maintaining a blog in which I posted all of the Life of Reilly translated to portuguese (Brazil´s language) for the Brazilian (and portuguese speaking countries´ citizens) fans to seize on your and Glenn´s amazing and deep work.

I was thinking if we could set something up in order to release your book in Brazil.

I have no idea how that could go about, but it would be a great thing.

Besides translating your work, I took care of relating all the events of the Clone Saga to what book it actually saw print in Brazil (that´s because, obviously, it always had a gap of about 2 years between publishing in the States and publishing in Brazil).

Anyway, let me know what you think.

I never got around to finish the translation because I have so much to do and I stopped on Part 23, but the site is still online and there are a lot of visits to this day.

So, let me know what you think. I know you don´t read portuguese, but pay the site a visit just to see what it looks like.

See you later! My e-mail is

    Dan G.

  2. Hi Daniel,

I've taken a look at the work you've done. Of course, I couldn't understand much haha, but I thought it was a very cool idea. As this thing gets closer to completion I'll definately be in touch.

  3. I think this is Ben's "Man of Steel" mini-series. The fact this is set in the present day leads me to think Marvel are retconning OMD/BND completly and going with Ben as Spidey for the forseeable future.

    Pinch me anytime

  4. Wouldn't it be nice when you travel you would have a place where you could spend the day or night and would give you the comfort that you want?
